SUMMARY:

Responsible for the management of activities within the department, ensuring the standards and objectives of the department are implemented and maintained in equipment operation, staff management, and product quality to meet and exceed guest expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Conduct applicant screening and interviews for Engineering positions.
  • Make recommendations as to hiring, advancement, discipline, and promotion to Director of Engineering.
  • Ensures department spending held within budgetary limits online spending.
  • Ensures the directives and standards are followed and maintained within department.
  • Staff training, assignments and supervision.
  • Ensures quality performance in staff assignments.
  • Ensures building code and quality standards at departmental and interdepartmental levels.
  • Monitors equipment and special preventative maintenance standards to ensure quality product.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to the performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

Assists in the execution of major projects and repairs.

Observe all departmental policies and procedures, dress code/appearance; demonstrate a friendly and Caring attitude and teamwork responsiveness.

Observe safe work habits as outlined including guidelines for using and maintaining all equipment. Promptly report all safety hazards and maintenance requirements.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Direct Report.

EXPERIENCE

Five years, general building maintenance experience. Commercial experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, controls electrical and gas operated equipment, staff supervision and development, preventative maintenance programming and evaluation.

GROOMING/UNIFORMS

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.

NOTICE:

The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
